Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian Specialist provides coordination and leadership in the development and growth of the Weight and Nutrition Program. The clinical dietitian screens, assesses, develops, and implements nutrition care plans based on patients’ nutritional and educational needs that follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) guidelines. Provides direct and indirect clinical support to patients and families in the Weight and Nutrition Program. Works in the professional role as an expert clinician, consultant, leader, educator, and translator of research. The clinical dietitian will be responsible for the application of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) including the completion of the nutrition assessment, determination of the nutrition diagnosis, developing and implementing nutrition intervention(s) and monitoring and evaluating the patient’s progress. The clinical dietitian will participate in quality improvement projects, departmental committees and help facilitate
monthly patient support groups.
Other information:
Master’s Degree required or a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of clinical experience. Registered as a Registered Dietitian in the state of Arkansas. Basic Life Support (BLS) Must have the ability to work well with people, including patients, family members and co-workers. “Must have the ability to teach and present in front of groups of patients and family
Members. Will be asked occasionally to present at community events. Obtain Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management via the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or other pertinent dietetic certification.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly
