Description The Iowa Primary Care Association is actively recruiting a Family Medicine NP or PA to serve as Clinical Director at our unique Migrant Farmworker Program in Des Moines! About the Migrant Farmworker Program Farmworkers perform difficult labor and are in the fields from early morning until late evening, sometimes seven days a week. Such a schedule does not facilitate access to health care services. There are also language barriers and transportation issues. Health care clinics are scheduled in locations where farmworkers are working and living, during the hours when workers are available for services. In these locations, workers receive vital exams such as blood pressure, temperature, height and weight, and blood profiling to check for anemia, cholesterol, and diabetes. All patients are able to have a complete physical exam. Role Details: Hours: Full-time positions; Hours may vary with occasional seasonal evenings/weekends; no call on evenings/weekends Sees on average 18 patients per day Provider team includes: 7 PRN APPs Exam Rooms: 2 EHR: eClinicalWorks Duties: Provider will see basic primary care at brick and mortar clinics and mobile clinic sites to a primarily adult patient population. May occasionally be asked to cover clinic hours in Iowa City & Fort Dodge region as needed with work vehicle and travel hours available.
