Description Clinical Director Job Description: The Clinical Director holds a current license in Montana as a mental health professional (LCSW or LCPC) or Licensed Addiction Counselor. The Clinical Director has responsibility for overall clinical management of Recovery Centers of Montana’s woman’s or men’s treatment facility. The Clinical Director is responsible for recruitment, screening, interviewing, training and supervision of addictions counselors. The Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring that productivity standards are met and that counselors, case management, peer support staff and treatment assistants are fulfilling their employment responsibilities. Disciplinary actions including correction plans and termination of employment are responsibilities of the Clinical Director. Scheduling of treatment activities are responsibilities of the Clinical Director. The Clinical Director will ensure that the site is clean and well maintained and that licensing standards are met. The Clinical Director will ensure that staff follow behavioral and attendance contracting and are compliant with documentation requirements. The Clinical Director will facilitate weekly staff meetings and ensure that case management staff have documented supervision with a licensed professional at a minimum once per month. The Clinical Director will increase the use of trauma informed, best practices in the facility. The Clinical Director will provide crisis intervention and brief therapy in the therapeutic milieu as needed. The Clinical Director is under the supervision of the Chief Clinical Director and Executive Director. Essential Job Functions: Responsible for recruiting screening, interviewing, training and supervising counselors, case management, peer support and treatment assistant staff. Responsible for scheduling resident treatment and staff schedules. Responsible for tracking admissions and discharges, notifying the Chief Clinical Director and Admissions/Marketing Director of admissions and discharges. Responsible for working with pre-authorizations, continued stay reviews and other utilization review activities. Develops and maintains a strength based, trauma informed, person centered culture of treatment. Ensuring that assignments are made for case management and T/A caseloads. Conducts documentation review and insure compliance with required documentation. Responsible for ensuring that treatment plans are developed within agency time lines and are updated. Participates in crisis intervention activities with patients as needed. Consults with the mental health team for the Recovery Centers of Montana program as required to facilitate effective evaluation of patient needs. Meets daily with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate review of individuals and changes in past shifts. Accepts on-call counselor responsibilities on a rotating schedule. Facilitates referrals to outside agencies, continuing care agencies, and special counseling agencies based upon patient need to insure continuity of care post-discharge. Consults and interacts with probation officers, attorneys, protective service workers, etc. to act as a patient advocate and insure comprehensiveness of care. Attends and participates in all in-services, staff meetings, counselor meetings, and clinical meetings as required by Recovery Centers of Montana. Develops and maintains culture of treatment that is 32 days in duration. Notifies the Chief Clinical Director and Marketing Director when residents exit facility prior to graduation or when graduation dates change. Maintains professional boundaries. De-escalates conflict situations. Works positively with team members within the agency and with community providers. Other duties as assigned. Attendance Requirements: The Clinical Director will be expected to have flexible hours that meet scheduling needs of the agency. The scheduling of staff meetings and training meetings may necessitate variations in schedules. Permanent changes in an employee’s work schedule will be provided to the employee with an explanation why the change was made. Scheduling is the responsibility of the employer and will be based on the needs of the people served by the agency. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Licensed as a LCSW, LCPC or LAC with a current license in the state of Montana under the Board of Behavioral Health. Criminal background check Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to assess and to respond to the needs of staff, residents, visitors and family members. Understanding of the issues and relationships with a diverse group of people and demonstrates healthy interpersonal skills, a sense of humor, adaptability, and models a positive self-concept. Empathy and adequate communication skills (both verbal and written) to establish trusting relationships with clients. Available beyond a nine to five work hour with team support and be able to identify a crisis situation and to respond accordingly. Must be able to provide transportation, using own vehicle. Positive team work skills with other staff, residents, and other resources in the community. Computer skills sufficient to enter the required information concerning clients and related statistical data. Current, valid Montana State Driver’s License and comprehensive vehicle insurance. CPS and Criminal Background Checks. Education/Experience: Current Montana License as a LCSW, LCPC or LAC. Current/Valid Montana Driver’s License. Positive attitude, good communication skills, ability to work with diverse populations and positive team work skills.
