Title: Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist Job Type: Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Clinical Documentation Improvement Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Reviews clinical documentation and facilitates an accurate account of all medical diagnoses, treatments and decisions rendered during an inpatient or outpatient encounter; collaborates and queries physicians and other medical staff to ensure the capture of all valid diagnoses compliantly. Starting annual salary is $86,681 which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience 1. A license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York, graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time nursing experience; or 2. A license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York, graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time nursing experience; or 3. Associate’s Degree with certification as a Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or related certification. NOTE: 1. Incumbents qualifying under the first “Education and Experience” requirement shown in “1 & 2” above must obtain and maintain Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or related certification within thirty (30) months of appointment to this title as a condition of continued employment. 2. Incumbents qualifying under the second “Education and Experience” requirement shown in “3” above must maintain Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or related certification as a condition of continued employment. 3. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
