POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager, Health Services, the Clinical Education Facilitator assumes a leadership role by providing guidance and direction to participants in the undergraduate Nursing Program to ensure quality patient care and outcomes based on best practice. The Clinical Education Facilitator is responsible for the organization, supervision and evaluation of students’ clinical performance.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of three (3) years of current clinical experience on the ward is required.
  • Recent teaching experience preferred.

EDUCATION (DEGREE/DIPLOMA/CERTIFICATE)

  • Graduate from an approved School of Nursing required.
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
  • Certificate in Adult Education is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of word processing, email and internet software required.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Demonstrates commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth.

  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients.
