EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Three (3) years’ recent, related nursing experience related gerontology, including two years’ experience in client education and/or group facilitation or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid BC Driver’s and access to a personal vehicle for local travel may be required, and will be noted on the posting.

• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical practice related to assigned clinical area.
• Comprehensive skill and expertise in gerontological and long term care and issues.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Knowledge of, and ability to, apply relevant quality improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of adult education principles, methods and tools.

  The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
  As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections.
