Your role at St John of God Social Outreach We are seeking applications for a Clinical Educator to join our International Health, Learning & Development team in Timor-Leste, on a permanent fixed-time basis until 2028. St John of God International Health works with Timor-Leste’s national hospital, Hospital National Guido Valadares, referral Hospital Maubisse and other regional hospitals to improve health care across the country. Our team of 27 includes Australian staff, expatriate professionals in Timor-Leste and local Timorese experts in health care, leadership, quality, learning, administration and language services. Based in Timor-Leste, you will have responsibility for strengthening capacity in clinical outcomes as set out in the Development Program plans. These plans have the ultimate aim of improving patient care within the Timorese hospital system by strengthening the capability of healthcare workers. This will be done in close collaboration and consultation with our Timorese counterparts. More information about our capacity strengthening work in Timor-Leste can be found HERE The Position Act as an ambassador for SJGIH programs and provide support to caregivers to uphold the SJGHC Vision, Mission and Values always. Use the SJGIH ‘approach to stable and sustainable development’, to work collaboratively with Program Managers and Team Leaders across portfolios to design, plan, implement and evaluate integrated activities to achieve the strategic actions as set out in the SJGIH plans. Provide on-the-ground support to design, implement and evaluate capacity-strengthening initiatives, with primary responsibility for leading the Learning and Development Program in the Municipalities, while also supporting program delivery at HNGV. This includes building the capability of Timorese caregivers and counterparts to effectively deliver the Learning and Development programs into the future. Contribute to monitoring and evaluating program design and activities, including quantitative and qualitative reporting that demonstrates progress against strategic plans. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced healthcare professional who possesses a nursing and/or midwifery qualification and is eligible for registration to practice as a nurse or midwife in Australia. You will have a minimum of five years’ experience in relevant technical areas such as Clinical Nursing (General Medical or Surgical), Learning and Development, Leadership, or Quality. Successful applicants must have a valid drivers license and Working with Children check. To be considered for this role you will have a willingness to commit to learning the local language, Tetun and be committed to understanding and working within the culture of the Timorese people.
