Western Private Hospital (WPH), is a boutique private hospital located in Footscray servicing the West of Melbourne with the provision of acute services which has 62 inpatient beds.
We are fully equipped for a comprehensive range of surgical procedures including general, bariatric, oral max, colorectal, endoscopy, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic, gynaecology, IVF, plastics, vascular and urology, as well as diagnostic and interventional cardiology and high dependency services.
WPHs facilities include four Operating Theatres, CSSD, Day Stay Unit, Day Oncology Unit, Overnight Ward for Medical, Surgical, CCU & HDU patients, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Specialist Consulting Suites, PET Centre and are supported by pathology, pharmacy, radiology and radiation therapy services.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity for experienced Clinical Educator on a permanent part-time basis. As the champion of education, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, facilitating and evaluating learning activities at Western Private Hospital.
Working in this role will see you develop and conduct evidence based formal and informal local education and support programs for nurses. You will exemplify and promote excellence in nursing practice by delivering expert nursing care to patients and serving as a role model and resource to nurses.
You will be responsible for the coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical nursing education programs at a ward/service level across both Surgical and Cardiac specialties, supporting NUMs to achieve positive clinical outcomes, through orientations as well as facilitating, coordinating and delivering ALS / BLS programs.
You will provide clinical supervision, both one-on-one and in group settings, to support the development of evidence-based clinical competence in line with the relevant standards, policies, and procedures.
About You
You will be a positive and supportive mentor with a passion for sharing your clinical expertise and knowledge and assisting in the clinical development of our nurses; nurturing staff in professional development and reinforcing self-esteem; encouraging learning within teams and portraying patient-centred care; leadership qualities and the ability to influence nursing staff to provide optimal care to patients and families.
The classification for this position is 4B Clinical Educator ($121,150- per annum pro rata) + Super and 3.5% yearly increases as per Western Private Hospital Nurses Enterprise Agreement 2023 .
Selection Criteria
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, Division 1
Postgraduate qualifications in a specialty area or working towards
ALS training qualification from either ACCCN or ARC (or willing to complete within 6 months)
Advanced clinical skills and nursing experience in critical care / HDU nursing is highly desirable
Knowledge of best practice within clinical nurse education, including legislative and regulatory requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage others in learning and development
Highly organised with an ability to work autonomously and as part of an established team
Ability to provide practical and theoretical education/training to staff as required
Cert IV in Workplace Training & Assessment or working towards is desirable
REQUIREMENTS:

Must be vaccinated against COVID-19, Influenza and provide proof of immunisation against, or immunity to, infectious diseases as required per the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic) – NOTE: for this role immunisation requirements associated with Risk Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 6 months, a Working With Children Check and evidence of Australian Residency / Full Working Rights (No Sponsorship Available)
