Responsibilities - The post holder will be responsible for;

• Implement the strategic vision and direction for nursing, and support nursing staff in Mercy University Hospital
• Provide clinical leadership for nursing which results in the delivery of effective, efficient, quality assured and patient centred nursing care.
• Ensure appropriate liaising and communication within the department of nursing and with members of the multidisciplinary team as necessary
• Be responsible for the assessment of standards of care of registered nurses who have commenced employment in the Mercy University Hospital in collaboration with CNM2/deputy
• Support clinical nurse managers, ward staff and competency development
• Attend relevant meetings as required
• Attend staff meetings and receive staff suggestions for improvements
• Ensure the clinical environment is conducive to supporting the learning and education of all staff
• Contribute to practice development and be involved in the writing of relevant policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in liaison with practice development team.
• Participate in the identification, development and delivery of formal and informal induction, education, training and development programmes for Nursing staff
• The extent to which there is patient satisfaction with nursing care.
• The extent to which good working relationships are fostered and maintained throughout the nursing service and between nursing and other disciplines.
