We are proud to offer the opportunity to work as part of the team at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery which is part of University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As part of UCL Partners, we form the largest Academic Health Science Centre in Europe.
This post offers a unique training opportunity. It is suitable for a post-CCT Neurosurgery trainee, who wishes to pursue a focused one-year training in complex epilepsy, allowing her/him to pursue a career in neurosurgery with a special interest in complex epilepsy. The post is a full time appointment.
The fellowship is expected to be for 12 months duration; there may be an option for prolonging this for up to a second year.
The post holder would also be expected to participate in the epilepsy and neurosurgery clinics with responsibility of seeing new and follow up patients in association with and being supervised by one of the epilepsy Consultants. The post holder is integrally involved in the Multidisciplinary team/ pre-surgical meetings, and is expected to present patients during the meeting, gaining experience in pre-surgical evaluation.
We would welcome applications from any candidate whose career progression would be helped by a longer period of Complex Epilepsy experience at registrar level and by candidates with previous neurolosurgery registrar level experience.
