Description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow ST post to join the Medicine for the Elderly Teams Perth and Kinross.
The Medicine for the Elderly service based at Perth Royal Infirmary is undergoing a period of change and innovation. At present the Medicine for the Elderly unit provides a comprehensive service to older in-patients in Perth Royal including an acute frailty team and frailty unit, acute MFE wards, orthogeriatric service and a 22 bedded rehab and assessment unit. Wider care to the older population of Perth and Kinross is delivered through a rapid assessment and falls service and movement disorder clinic; we provide MFE service to two 17 and 18 bedded community hospitals.
Medicine for the Elderly is Tayside’s largest employer of Clinical Fellows and Speciality Doctors, and our team have a reputation for providing opportunities and career development in this career grade. It is also the stepping stone to Speciality Doctor post for doctors without enough experience to apply for a Speciality Doctor post.
The post is ideal for doctors looking for time away from training or a non-training career, where development, training and opportunities provided by these posts have many positives. The candidate can work fulltime or part time. Weekend and evening working is available, as is out of hours. These are entirely optional.
Closing date to be 25/09/2025 however, we are looking to offer this post at the earliest opportunity and would therefore encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. Interviews will be held as and when candidates apply.
For informal enquiries please contact: Dr Neil Henderson, Neil.Henderson2@nhs.sco
