Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow in TB and Respiratory Medicine at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fixed term post for 12 months. Applicants must have full registration with the GMC with at least 12 months experience in the NHS, preferably at ST1/CT1 level or above.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a trainee to learn and improve skills in all elements of respiratory medicine including the management of TB patients. They will have the opportunity to develop specialised skills in EBUS and bronchoscopy, manage patients in general respiratory clinics under consultant supervision and attend specialist clinics such as lung cancer, difficult asthma and ILD. The fellow will have no on call commitment as part of the post although there is the ability to join the locum bank to offer out of hours support outside the post.
The main duties of the post are the day to day management of patients, wards, and out-patients. They will have the opportunity to develop specialty skills such as management of TB patients, bronchoscopy, EBUS and pleural disease management. They will be expected to manage patients in general respiratory clinics under consultant supervision and have the opportunity to attend specialist clinics such as difficult asthma and ILD. There will be opportunity to be involved in research, particularly asthma and lung cancer.
The clinical fellow will undertake any other relevant duties allocated by the Consultants, which may be necessary from time to time.
The clinical fellow will undertake to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances, and to provide prospective cover for leave of other middle grade staff.
The appointee will take an active role in audit and clinical governance and will comply with all the Trust infection control policies.
The appointee will participate and co-operate with all clinical service unit arrangements.
