POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Clinical Informatics Analyst assumes responsibility for enhancing the practice of medicine and to benefit the patient by extending and improving the health care delivered. Supports staff within the organization on the use of the electronic health record and other electronic programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in nursing or equivalent experience preferred; bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred
  • Current Iowa RN license preferred
  • Current BLS certification
  • Two years’ previous experience using Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred.
  • Healthcare Informatics experience or equivalent clinical knowledge may be considered.
  • Willingness to complete on-going electronic Medical Record certifications as assigned.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications.

POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Is available during operating hours to assist staff members in troubleshooting issues related to the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Assists With onboarding new hires, EHR login creation, and password management.
  • Assists Epic educator with training new providers and staff members on the current electronic systems.
  • Suggest workflow changes, document workflows, and implement these changes.
  • Participates in upgrading electronic systems: Including testing, education, and go-live support.
  • Participate in obtaining data for quality measures from different electronic systems. Builds reports as requested for quality and operational purposes
  • Utilize excellent communication skills when working with providers, staff, patients, vendors, and with networking.
  • Collaborates with informatics and system support team members to support projects.
  • Contacts include but are not limited to co-workers, medical staff, volunteers, patients, representatives from other organizations and the public (in person and on the telephone).
  • Maintains a close working relationship with UIHC Community Connect team.
  • Attends all required meetings and in-services.
  • Other job duties as assigned
