POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Informatics Analyst (CIA) will advocate on behalf of the clinical professional in the design, development and adoption of TransForm’s Health Information System program strategies.
The CIA role bridges health care professionals practicing in clinical areas with information services by translating user and patient needs related to clinical information systems. Clinical practices will be utilized to determine clinical functions suitable for computer applications, ensuring information technology is consistent with professional clinical practice standards.
Responsibilities include continued operational support beyond implementation to enable continuous improvement and advancements in the adoption of electronic health records throughout the Erie St. Clair region.
Candidates with the right combination of clinical expertise, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams may be considered for a Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) role.

Responsibilities
  • Liaison between the hospital clinicians/leaders, TransForm’s information services professionals and relevant team members; fostering collaboration and shared direction
  • Provides guidance and expertise to both clinicians, development resources and decision support for data driven information gathering and sharing
  • Data gathering and analysis for the purpose of process improvement and recommendations for workflow redesign to positively impact health care and patient safety
  • Document workflows to support operational activities including mapping models that will help facilitate design, build & testing to achieve process improvements and gains in adoption.
  • Develop, implement or evaluate health information technology applications, tools, processes or structures that will drive health informatics best practices for clinicians and other providers
  • Engage and manage the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, evaluation and support of adopted patient care technologies
  • Support the adoption and standardization of clinical systems through education and training, workflow\process analysis, quality outcomes, and providing support in accordance with regional strategies
