The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Clinical Informatics Integration Lead in the Information Management Group portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Clinical Informatics Officer, the Clinical Informatics Integration Lead will serve as a strategic liaison for advancing health informatics across the organization. This individual will act as a liaison between technical, clinical and quality teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. They will lead stakeholder engagement efforts, focusing on clinicians, and work on optimizing the electronic health record (EHR) system to enhance patient care, quality, safety, clinical efficiency, and overall healthcare innovation.

Job Requirements

  • Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (e.g. BN, BScN, BNSc). A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Formal health/nursing informatics education is required (e.g. certificate, course, master’s degree etc.)
  • Certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing (CPMHN (C)) is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ of nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of two years’ of experience in an informatics role.
  • Experience in EHR optimization, digital health initiatives, or large-scale clinical information system implementations required.
  • Knowledge of the mental health and addictions sector is required.
  • Experience working on healthcare projects in a clinical setting is required.
  • Experience teaching and supporting clinicians in the use of the electronic clinical applications is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Health Millennium is required.
  • Strong knowledge of CAMH clinical workflows, and/or mental health related workflows is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
  • Experience working with diverse clients and stakeholders is required.
  • Change management skills and experience are required.
  • Strong organization and planning skills required.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills are required.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience working with front-line staff as well as executives preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical IDEA Management and Process Improvement
  • Track, prioritize, and oversee Clinical IDEAs requiring Physician, Nursing and Health Disciplines engagement or endorsement.
  • Identify improvements to enhance the IDEA review and governance processes.
  • Act as primary point of contact for requestors when IDEAs are triaged to the Physician Think Tank or Nursing and Health Disciplines Think Tank.
  • Assist in the development of clinical change guidelines to ensure a structured and efficient approach to IDEA implementation.
  • EHR Optimization & Innovation
  • Provide critical analysis and recommend optimizations in the use of I-CARE to improve efficiency, workflow, and quality of patient care.
  • Expand data analysis efforts using Lights On to identify key clinical system usage trends and optimization opportunities. Utilize data insights to support decision-making and measure the impact of informatics initiatives.
  • Conduct needs assessments, gap analyses, and feasibility studies to drive informatics improvements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design, test, and implement new features or system enhancements.
  • Advocate for standardized data collection processes and streamlined intra-professional documentation to reduce the clinical burden and improve data integrity within the EHR.
  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the development, implementation and adoption of clinical information systems and digital health tools under the direction of the Chief Clinical Informatics Officer
  • Liase, support and align work with the Quality, Experiences and Patient Safety team (QuEST)
  • Incorporate nursing and health discipline research and evidence-based practices into informatics strategies under the direction of the under the direction of the Chief Clinical Informatics Officer.
  • Sit on relevant committees in the capacity of a clinical informatics subject matter expert.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders and stakeholders to ensure that all understand and appreciate the impact of new technologies on clinical practice and/or operations.
  • Support senior leadership with external collaborations, vendor partnerships, and industry engagement to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between clinicians, technical teams, and leadership as it relates to changes in I-CARE and related purposes.
  • Collaborate with clinical and technical stakeholders to identify pain points, ensure EHR optimizations support clinician workflows and drive quality improvement.
  • Coordinate and lead stakeholder engagement efforts for the Nursing and Health Disciplines Think Tank committee.
  • Support the Physician Think Tank Meetings by identifying and preparing Clinical IDEAs triaged to this group for presentation and endorsement.
  • Facilitate Clinical Informatics newsletter planning meetings and coordination of stakeholder contributes to ensure timely distribution of relevant EHR updates.
