Description Position Summary: The Clinical Informatics Specialist coordinates and participates in the ongoing maintenance, training, and modification of the clinical components of EHR (EPIC) and other clinical modules/systems in conjunction with the IT department. Serves as a clinical technical liaison between Medical Staff, Barrett staff and IT. Responds to data needs by building reports and ensuring that information is available and accurate. Reviews clinical quality reports as needed; helps identify correct workflows to improve efficiencies within the electronic health record. Identifies computer technologies that can benefit healthcare providers. Evaluates the effectiveness of clinical systems. Supports or leads projects as determined by needs of organization and IT dept. This is an On-Premises role. Minimum Qualifications: Clinical license (e.g., RN, RPh, MD, PA, RT, or other licensed healthcare professional) or equivalent clinical experience obtained through direct patient care, healthcare operations, or clinical system implementation. Prefer experience in informatics as well. Responsibilities: Analyze current-state clinical workflows and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize workflows within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Facilitate EHR changes through Providence governance and ticketing processes Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for system and workflow optimization Collaborate with Providence Health System for all EHR requests, upgrades and projects. Support system upgrades, new releases, and enhancements, including end-user readiness activities Identify, assess, and mitigate patient safety risks related to health information technology and clinical workflows Provide at-the-elbow support, issue triage, and problem resolution for clinical systems users Participates in onboarding of new employees to Barrett systems and applications Educate and train end users on system functionality, workflow changes, and best practices Participate in change management activities to support adoption of new technologies and process improvements Collaborate with director, quality, compliance, and leadership teams on organizational initiatives Participate in governance structures, committees, and workgroups related to clinical informatics and health IT Perform other duties as assigned that support the mission and strategic objectives of the organization Facility Information: Barrett Hospital & HealthCare provides the people of southwestern Montana with quality healthcare services.
