Description

Overview:
Collaborates with customers, information services, vendors, peers in the informatics role, and other key stakeholders to
develop and execute information technology plans including software applications and hardware related to clinical
workflows. Interacts daily with staff to communicate and resolve information technology needs. Acts as advocate for staff
relative to clinical IT issues. Provides a key link between medical staff, nursing staff, other clinical users, senior
administration, and information services. Utilizes knowledge of clinical workflow to provide input into application
development, implementation, training and continuous support. This role provides information systems support to achieve
the organization’s mission of excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts regular rounding sessions with customers to explore system use, user needs and identify areas of improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in meeting patient care needs.
  • Provides on-call training support for customers.
  • Analysis and vetting of enhancements and/or new workflows proposed to meet customers’ stated needs.
  • Collaborates with IT and customer on build, testing, and validation of enhancements or new systems.
  • Develops, analyzes, implements, and evaluates IT education programs, projects, and continuing education plans related to information systems that provide significant benefit to the customer.
  • Serving as a consultant to staff in the provision of clinical documentation.
  • Identifying and conducting staff development activities and computer education for staff.
  • Representing clinical staff needs in implementation of information technology systems.
  • Must have strong analytical abilities, problem solving skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as, demonstrated cross-team collaboration.
  • Must have knowledge of and experience using software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by management within job scope.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION / TRAINING

  • Bachelors Degree
    Preferred: Master’s Degree and IT related certifications are preferred. Must have knowledge of and experience using
    software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
    Additional info:
    An equivalent combination and/or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree. Examples of relevant work experience include minimum 5 years of one or a combination of the following: healthcare experience, EMR system experience (Epic preferred), Training and Education development, project management, programming/coding, technical problem solving, and system implementation coordination.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-years in one or a combination of the following: healthcare experience, EMR system experience (EPIC preferred),training and education development, project management, programming/coding, technical problem solving, and system implementation coordination.
    Preferences:
    Experience with EPIC training environment development and curriculum planning and development for new workflows.
