Job title: Clinical Innovation and Quality Assurance Lead
Hospice band: Band 7 full-time salary £47,218 pa – £54,034) - salary pro-rata for 30 hours per week

We are looking for an inspirational leader who clearly expresses the hospice vision, values and service and utilises these values to underpin developments to help drive forward the Quality of the care we provide and strengthen our ability to demonstrate this.

Wirral Hospice St Johns has over a 40-year of history of supporting the residents of Wirral who have life limiting illness to live well until they die. The role:

• provides support across all services and clinical teams to develop and embed quality improvement and assurance measures, to meet the needs of internal and external bodies including CQC and Commissioners, by delivering routine and bespoke reporting.
• supports both audit and incident processes from identification, creation, application and investigation to conclusions, action planning, implementation and review inclusive of the Patient Safety Incident Framework.
• guides and supports the review and update of clinical policies.
• Contributes directly to clinical education initiatives working with the Clinical Education Facilitator
• Has a key role in the organisation and support of the medical student’s placement programme.

We are looking to recruit a competent, experienced and enthusiastic practitioner who is able to form positive working relationships across varied teams, professional groups and skill sets, have a curious mind set and be open to learning from others.

Flexibility, responsibility and professionalism are key. You will:

• display confidence and self-motivation, with excellent communication skills using your clinical knowledge and experience to support the review of incidents ensuring programmes and initiatives are achievable and effective. Producing written reports for senior internal and external review.
• have a good understanding of incident review and investigation processes including the PFSIRF approach
• be experienced in change management and able to promote a culture of learning and quality improvement which keeps patients and families’ experiences at the heart of change.
