The Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) is one of Alberta’s largest and longest-serving hospitals. Centrally located in Edmonton’s downtown core, the RAH serves a diverse community, including some of our province’s most vulnerable populations. They operate 869 beds and care for approximately 450,000 patients annually. The RAH is home to the Lois Hole Hospital for Women and Women’s Health Centre, the Regional Eye Centre, and the Aboriginal Health program, in addition to a wide range of child, adult and geriatric programs and services. The Respiratory Educator, within the guidelines and policies set down by Respiratory Therapy Services department and under the general supervision of the Manager of Respiratory Therapy provides education to multi-disciplinary team at the RAH site.
Description:
As a Clinical Instructor (Technologies), your primary responsibility will be the education and development of staff in our department, as well as other disciplines through orientation and continuing education. You will promote excellence and consistency in best evidence patient care in clinical practice. You will provide direct patient care in order to maintain competency and to understand the educational needs of the department. You will have a role in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, lead and/or participate in research projects, and develop training and educational modules/tools for new equipment/therapy and training requirements.
