JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide instruction in the classroom and lab:
1) Provide in-depth, hands on, demonstrations in pipe welding using SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes in accordance with ASME B31.3 and B31.3 standards.
2) Following up with over-the-shoulder welding instruction to each student in each booth.
3) Prepare for and teach related subject matter (e.g., shop math, welding theory, and blueprint reading) in a classroom setting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be certifiable through the Idaho Department of Career and Technical Education (IDCTE). (https://cte.idaho.gov)
  • Five to eight years of recent, documented, pipe welding experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level

Additional Information

Salary will be between $60,000 - $65,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience. Responsibilities
  • Prepare for classroom instruction in blueprint reading, isometric piping, pipe fitting, trade math, welding theory, and mechanical drawing.
  • Lesson plan development, teaching plans, course outlines, ppt presentations, practical in classroom examples of principles and techniques.
  • Preparing and conducting tests, quizzes, and homework assignments relevant to classroom instruction.
  • Grading tests, quizzes, and homework followed by entering grades.
  • Participate in Early Alert Systems (EAS) to provide additional help to students who are struggling with attendance, performance, hunger, housing, of financial issues that prevent them from excelling.
  • Work with Veteran’s Sanctuary, Center for New Directions, tutors, and other support groups to maximize student graduation rates.
  • Retention activities are made daily, weekly, and throughout each semester.
  • Keep students safe in hands-on training situations.
