The Ophthalmic Clinical Intern supports the clinical team by assisting with patient care, diagnostic testing, and clinical flow within an ophthalmology practice. This role is designed for individuals gaining hands-on experience in eye care while learning essential skills needed for future certification or full-time clinical roles. This is a Part Time/Seasonal internship opportunity anticipated to be 15 hours or less per week. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Observe and support other clinical staff (including but not limited to Ophthalmic Technicians and Scribes, Patient Services Representatives, Clinical Managers, and Doctors). Maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical. Greet visitors and assist them as needed. If needed, answer and direct phone calls in a professional manner. Perform general office duties such as data entry, photocopying, scanning, and mailing. Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, equipment, and clinical areas. Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information. Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies and departmental scheduling requirements. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Valid and active Driver’s License. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related programs. Skills and Abilities Strong interest in eye care and a willingness to learn clinical skills. Fact finder with strong follow-through, capable of working independently and goal oriented. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Effective organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel as required.
