Job Summary: A Clinical Lab Coordinator is responsible for leading a team of laboratory employees in an environment of CQI. Education: Required: Bachelor's degree with major in biological science or related field plus one year of training in an approved school of Medical Technology or equivalent. Employees with Associates Degree and TN Supervisor License hired prior to 2019 are grandfathered into this position. Preferred: Experience: Required: Extensive laboratory experience. Preferred: A minimum of three years supervisory experience. Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: Licensed as a Medical Technologist Supervisor by the State of Tennessee Laboratory Licensing Board within six months from the date of hire. Preferred: Department Position Summary: The Clinical Lab Coordinator oversees and coordinates with the team of employees a variety of duties in a laboratory section to include selection of new equipment, daily technical surveillance, staff competency, new procedures, scheduling, counseling, QC guidelines, purchasing, inventory, problem-solving, communication, safety, and daily departmental operation. The Coordinator works closely with the Laboratory Director to ensure timely communication and effective departmental operation. He/she performs a wide variety of manual and automated laboratory procedures. Further, the Coordinator supports the mission, vision, and values of the Health System. The Coordinator performs other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Director and assists Laboratory Administration whenever necessary.
