Join us on this meaningful journey where your skills, compassion and dedication will make a remarkable difference in the lives of those we serve.   How you’ll contribute  A Clinical Laboratory Assistant who excels in this role: * Perform phlebotomy duties as required, to include venipuncture and capillary techniques, using standard equipment such as vacutainer tubes and sleeves, tourniquets, syringes and butterfly needles. * Assure that requisition includes patient demographics and accurate required billing information. * Transcribe physician orders * Facilitate the unobserved collection of urine specimens. Interact directly with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears, and elicit cooperation. * Process, label, and store specimen samples for subsequent analysis. * Perform and document various quality control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations. * Perform Med-Competence testing. * Enter waived testing results into the LIS utilizing the manual entry mode. * Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. Perform light cleaning of work area * Perform specialized collection as requested. * Occasionally deliver or pick up specimens outside of the laboratory.
