We are looking to hire a Clinic Lab Technician.Proficient in the procurement of blood samples via venous and capillary techniques, from patients ranging in age from infant to geriatric. 
  • Utilizes use of the Laboratory Information System for activating, ordering, and resulting laboratory orders from providers and to result laboratory tests. 
  • Educates patients in the proper collection of specimens such as urine, stool and sputum. 
  • Reviews orders from providers, maintaining accuracy in ordering tests; occasionally must call providers' offices to obtain orders. 
  • Processes specimens in the appropriate way, including looking up specimen requirements, centrifuging and separating as necessary, and storing at the appropriate temperature to maintain sample integrity and testing acceptability. 
  • Readies specimens for transfer to reference laboratories, including completing the required paperwork for transfer and ensuring STAT specimens are processed and transported in a timely manner, including calling a STAT courier and completing the necessary paperwork for the transfer. 
  • Performs both waived and moderately complex CLIA testing in hematology, urinalysis, and serologiy areas under the guidance and supervision of an MLT or MT.  
  • Keeps accurate records, such as temperature monitoring, quality control for all laboratory testing and daily, weekly and monthly maintenance. 
  • Works together as a team in a fast paced environment to care for our patients while demonstrating Genesis Health System's standards of behavior.
  • Schedule:8am-4:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays
  • General Requirements:Medical Assistant, Certified Phlebotomist or other healthcare studies preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
