Job Type: Full-Time, 39.35 hours per week (including 2 supernumerary days)
Salary: £21.30 per hour

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
  • Previous experience as a Senior Nurse, Lead Nurse, or Clinical Lead in a Nursing Home environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of clinical governance, safeguarding, and CQC standards.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinical Lead Nurse (RGN) to join our nursing home team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate nursing professional who is committed to delivering high-quality care and supporting the clinical development of our team.
As Clinical Lead, you will take on a key leadership role, working alongside the Home Manager to ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care for our residents. You will have dedicated supernumerary time (2 days per week) to focus on clinical leadership, staff support, compliance, and quality improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and support the nursing and care team in delivering high standards of care.
  • Provide clinical guidance, mentoring, and supervision to nursing staff.
  • Ensure care plans are developed, updated, and implemented effectively.
  • Carry out audits, risk assessments, and monitor clinical practices to maintain compliance with CQC standards.
  • Support with training, staff development, and induction of new team members.
  • Administer medications safely and ensure clinical governance standards are upheld.
  • Work collaboratively with the Home Manager, GPs, allied health professionals, residents, and families.
