ABOUT THE ORGANISATION:
As Scotland’s smallest health board, NHS Orkney is driven by a bold vision: looking after our community and providing excellent care. Whether you’re starting your NHS journey or bringing expertise from another NHS employer, your skills will make a real difference to the health and lives of Orkney’s 22,000 residents.
Our state-of-the-art healthcare facility, The Balfour, opened in 2019 and is home to modern inpatient wards, an emergency department, outpatient clinics, diagnostics, GP practices, and the Scottish Ambulance Service. Collaboration thrives here, ensuring exceptional care for every patient. Beyond our main facility, we’re investing in our outer isles, enhancing services, and transforming patient care across our islands.
THE POSITION:
We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for Orkney Health and Care Partnership, based in our new Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall. If you are interested in leading our dynamic and committed Physiotherapy teams covering all Adult Services, we would be delighted to hear from you.
The successful applicant will provide clinical leadership to our physiotherapy teams that provide highly specialist physiotherapy care across many settings as required within the hospital, community, primary care and in reach to other settings.
THE CANDIDATE:
We are looking for a forward-thinking Physiotherapist with highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills to join our team, also bringing your own clinical expertise to the post. There will be the potential to develop your own clinical area of expertise to Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner level and work with the other Physiotherapy services where you will be able to help shape and support the evolution of Physiotherapy practice.
We encourage innovation and the use of technology to develop services across our remote and rural landscape. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner roughly a 40/60 split between a clinical case load and management responsibilities. In a small community it helps to be flexible and have good generalist skills
