We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Physiotherapist to lead and develop the therapy team for Private Care, adult in-Patients at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In this role, you will lead the therapy service for Private Care while managing a diverse clinical caseload. You will be responsible for patient flow, staff development, and service and process improvements, as well as managing complex clinical cases and a diverse caseload across all specialities within in-patient care. Collaboration within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and with our community settings and stakeholders is essential to enhance care pathways and implement changes that directly benefit our patients.
You will be expected to have extensive knowledge and experience of working within Private Care, as well as exposure to working alongside private insurance companies, private patients, and international embassies. It is vital to have a working knowledge of the London private care market and experience in this industry. In addition, this role will require knowledge and understanding of NHS settings, as this role remains part of an NHS trust.

As part of the senior management team for Private Patients, you will report to the Specialist Care Division. You will share responsibility with other clinical leads for the operational and clinical management of the service, ensuring that both high-quality care and effective operational practices are adhered, as well as the growth of the service.

• To be the therapy services expert clinician for the adult Private Patient wing.
• To be responsible for the day to day operational management of therapies for adult Private Patients.
• To work in collaboration with the Physiotherapy, nursing and medical colleagues. This post holder is an integral member of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team for the adult Private patient wing.
• Requires highly skilled time management and priority skills due to frequent interruptions of job tasks during the working day and balancing of clinical and operational duties, including service development.
• To be responsible for the supervision, teaching and day to day line management of more junior staff within a dedicated clinical area.
• To provide structured appraisals, formal meetings and informal support in order to manage and supervise the staff regarding clinical issues.

• To participate in research and development by initiating, planning and undertaking clinical audits/research projects to evaluate and develop the specialist therapy service and produce evidence-based resources, policies and guidelines and support other staff to do this.
• To educate the multi-disciplinary team, therapists in the Trust and potentially therapists nationally (as appropriate) on elements of therapy in your designated clinical area, and raise the profile of the therapy service in your designated clinical area within the service and Trust.
• To contribute to strategic planning and service development of the Private Patients and deputise when required.
• To work alongside the Inpatient Therapy Clinical Leads to initiate and manage clinical service development initiatives, implementing and sustaining change where necessary.
• To utilise expert clinical reasoning and specialist skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in Private patients and to provide specialist support and advice to other therapy staff whilst maintaining a caseload as an autonomous practitioner which includes highly complex patients.
• To participate in CPD and other developmental activities and encourage all members of your team to do similarly.
• Within this leadership role you must ensure the highest standards of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance for inpatient therapy services is provided to Private Patients, with a focus on continuous improvement and benchmarking against London’s leading Private Healthcare providers.
