Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: The Ophthalmology Center - Virginia Beach, VA 23462 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Travel Percentage: None Job Category: Other Position Summary The Clinical Lead responsibilities include triage patients prior to seeing the physician, obtaining vital signs, performing phlebotomy, EKG, immunizations/injections, assisting physicians with procedures, assisting patients with care, accurate documentation in electronic health records, calling in refills and communicating with patients and outside entities. Administrative duties include but are not limited to patient check-in/check-out, collecting monies, preparing next day charts and answering phones. Lead the clinical team. Major Duties and Responsibilities Triage patients during point of care. Duties include phlebotomy and collection of lab specimens for the purpose of testing. Preparing accurate reports concerning the results of laboratory tests and quality control. Responsible for processing patient specimens appropriately to ensure accurate results. Responsible for taking vital signs, EKG and performing injections Leading the clinical team. Making sure to fully document patient information into NextGen. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of current Microsoft Office Suites including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access. Office 2007 or newer required. Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform routine tests with attention to proper procedure, precision and accuracy. Knowledge of appropriate medical terminology Skill in specimen collection. Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer. Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Education / Training / Requirements Medical Assisting Diploma. Current CPR or BLS certificate. At least 2 years or relevant experience. Physical Demands Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to climb or balance for limited periods of time. Ability to occasionally reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 lbs. * Ability to grasp and hold up to 25 lbs.* Ability to hear normal voice level communications in person or through the telephone. Ability to speak clearly and understandably. Ability to taste and smell.
