Description
Under the direction of the Director and the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Leader is responsible for managing staffing resources, promoting team building and culture, and enhancing safety throughout McMaster Children’s Hospital. They will facilitate a safe and therapeutic environment for the provision of care by identifying and following up on opportunities for continuous improvement and coaching team members in the process. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Hospital Acquired Condition(s) work in alignment with Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) and will be accountable for meeting specific goals. Role modelling and supporting Safety Culture initiatives and methods will be a key focus. The Clinical Leader will collaborate frequently with the Clinical Manager to support staff and patients. They will promote best practices and will use clinical expertise and a safety focus to mentor and support the interdisciplinary team. 1. Baccalaureate Degree in Health Sciences 2. All professionals must hold a current affiliation/membership with their respective governing Practice College (as applicable) 3. Minimum of 5 years recent (within the last 2 years) relevant practice in pediatrics 4. Skill in supporting and mentoring professional staff to enhance knowledge skill and judgment within their practice 5. Demonstrated experience providing equitable and inclusive care and treatment of both staff and patients and families from historically excluded and marginalized communities including folks who are Indigenous, Black, racialized, disabled, and/or Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ 6. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion including evidence of education and learning undertaken in this space 7. Demonstrated leadership and co-ordination skills in a fast paced environment 8. Demonstrated creativity and innovation in the delivery of patient care services 9. Demonstrated skills and experience with effective conflict management, resolution and mediation 10. Demonstrated excellence in communication, team-building, and ability to initiate, model and support change in a constructive manner 11. Demonstrated advanced critical thinking skills in complex environments 12. Experience in development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives within the healthcare environment 13. Demonstrated ability and knowledge to access and utilize hospital resources and effectively collaborate across services 14. Evidenced commitment to personal development and lifelong learning 15. Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision and values of HHS and MCH.
