Description
The Extensive Need/Mi-Care Clinical Leader will be accountable to the Clinical Manager and will establish a collaborative relationship with the Medical Directors, Clinical Directors and Team Leaders, as well as community partners. The Clinical Leader manages day-to-day operations of the ambulatory teams and acts as a contact for clients, families and staff in conflict. Through the effective use of resources, the Clinical Leader co-ordinates and facilitates daily clinical activities. He/she/they promotes a supportive, collaborative environment for all staff using a team approach. The Clinical leader acts as the communication liaison between services, as well as other health care professionals and programs at MCH and is also actively involved in integration across programs/services. This may include leading site-wide integration supports and building community partnerships to promote access and coordinated care. The functions of the Clinical Leader include being a role model and coach to assist staff with professional development and achievement of program goals. The Clinical Leader participates in recruitment and performance reviews with respect to the teams. The Clinical Leader is responsible for understanding and promoting the strategic direction of the services and of MCH. The Clinical Leader follows through on issues that impact on the quality of patient care provided and contributes to the monitoring and development of the operating plan. The Clinical Leader provides leadership within the services for quality and risk management activities. 1. Bachelor's degree required 2. Five years of relevant clinical experience 3. Demonstrated understanding of Developmental and Rehabilitation Services and/or complex needs and/or mental health 4. Demonstrated management skills 5. Well-developed knowledge of community processes and services 6. Experience in monitoring budgets 7. Demonstrated excellence in communication, critical thinking and team building skills 8. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and lifelong learning 9. Demonstrated excellence in ability to initiate, model and support change in a constructive manner 10. Demonstrated conflict resolution and leadership skills 11. Ability to work in an environment that requires a high degree of organizational skills and flexibility 12. Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision & values of McMaster Children's Hospital 13. Registration as a Regulated Health Professional preferred 14. Fluency in French will be considered and asset 15. Willingness to participate in a criminal reference check 16. Must be able to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)
