Position Summary The Clinical Manager is responsible for managing the overall flow and efficiency of multiple clinics. This includes selecting business practice activities to promote improved patient care delivery, problem solving, communication and professional development for self and their team. They may also perform duties of an ophthalmic technician and front desk staff as needed. Work Locations: Maplewood and Tacoma Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm No Weekends Roles and Responsibilities Meets and performs all job duties and responsibilities of an Ophthalmic Assistant, Scribe, and Front Desk Staff. Ensures quality and safety of all patients and imaging following appropriate Evergreen Eye Center Policies and procedures. Documents patient care in a timely manner that reflects recognition of the legal significance of an accurate and complete medical record utilizing the designated EMR (electronic medical record). Assist providers with minor ophthalmic imaging procedures. Monitor and facilitate patient flow in the clinic and in the testing rooms, working collaboratively with other clinical staff. Promote and model an atmosphere of respect for human dignity and the uniqueness of each person encountered. Ensure positive and professional first impression of the clinic. Appropriately directs patients and others to the other departments across the practice as needed. Act promptly and effectively in managing self, caring for patients, directing other employees and responding to administrative needs during an emergency situation. Apply appropriate policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice in performing clinical duties. Proactively provides coaching and performance feedback to staff as needed; conducts annual performance reviews for staff under supervision. Ability to create staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for projected clinic volume Monitor, correct and approve staff timecards Ability to rotate to all clinical sites of service and complete other duties as assigned. Experience Requirements 3 years of clinic back office experience required. 3 years of experience in a supervisory role. Experienced in managing multiple clinic locations. Ophthalmology experience preferred but not required Self Starter and comfortable working independently Ability to lead and gain influence Organization and Time Management Skills. Education Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED); some college preferred Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
