This is a unique opportunity to build and lead the clinical function within a growing, ambitious startup, working closely with the CEO and Director of Operations. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)
- Recognized professional qualification in Psychotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling (e.g., a degree in Counselling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology).
- Accredited or working towards accreditation with a professional body:
- BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)
- UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy)
- HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) – Practitioner Psychologist
- SWE (Social Work England) – Registered Social Worker with strong therapeutic experience
- Experience delivering trauma-informed therapy (DDP, attachment-based interventions, PACE model).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED, BUT NOT ESSENTIAL)
- HCPC-Registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychologist).
- Fully Accredited Child Psychotherapist (UKCP/BACP/BPS/BABCP).
- Formal training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), EMDR, or other trauma-focused interventions.
- Experience in a children’s residential setting or CAMHS.
OTHER KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with children in care, trauma-experienced populations, or high-risk settings.
- Strong training and supervision skills, with the ability to upskill care teams.
- Confident working multi-agency, advocating for children’s needs with external professionals.
