Summary:
The Clinical Manager of Gambling Services is responsible for the planning, coordination, and management of day today aspects of the Bettor Choice Gambling Program. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Clinical Outpatient Programs, he/she shall provide clinical and administrative day-to-day oversight to the program and provide clinical care in conjunction with their clinical team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain flexible schedule to perform clinical assessments, provide individual/group therapy and intensive outpatient services while meeting productivity measures.
  • Secure initial insurance authorization and all required concurrent authorizations throughout care.
  • Complete all treatment planning and discharge documentation according to policy.
  • Input all clinical documentation in Connecticut Renaissance’s EHR accurately and timely.
  • Communicate with referral sources on the status of each client’s progress and performance within the program, including the preparation of reports.
  • Provide urinalysis/breathalyzer testing when indicated and within guidelines of monitoring.
  • Attend all required trainings to enhance knowledge and skill level.
  • Attend all DMHAS meetings scheduled for the Better Choice Treatment community and attend conferences and meetings required by the Bettor Choice contract.
  • Act as the point person for the daily management of the Bettor Choice Gambling program, including scheduling and managing urgent program or client matters.
  • Manage and coordinate activities of all clinic staff members to maximize the quality of services delivered and to meet the needs of clients and referral/funding sources.
  • Recruit, train and manage all employees and peer support staff, provide Clinical Supervision (including co- signature of client clinical documentation) as required, and complete all required Performance Appraisals.
  • Ensure that the Bettor Choice Gambling Program delivers services in line with contractual requirements, including the documentation of activities using funder communications/reporting systems.
  • Assist in maintaining DPH and DCF licensing and CARF accreditation.
  • Ensure that staff members maintain their required licensing and certification status and complete all mandated training and development activities.
  • Participate in outpatient meetings and provide staff meetings with the Bettor Choice Gambling program team to ensure consistent understanding of client cases, program development and knowledge of agency policy and initiatives.
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals and grant applications for new or renewed program services.
  • Review the clinic’s budgets and financial performance in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer.

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

Knowledge Of:

  • Outcome measures and Quality Improvement processes.
  • Diagnosis and assessment of co-occurring disorders.
  • Fee for service and billing requirements for outpatient services.
  • Electronic Health Record
  • General office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability To:

  • Supervise clinical and support staff, including the development of performance evaluations.
  • Interact effectively with representatives of funding sources and referral agencies.
  • Analyze and solve problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Manage priorities to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills.
  • Assimilate new information and technology.
  • Ability to employ effective organizational skills to meet goals.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a Human Services field.
  • Active Connecticut licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC
  • Active Connecticut LADC licensure a plus.
  • Certification in the treatment of Problem Gambling preferred, must be willing to pursue certification.
  • Five years of relevant work experience with adult outpatient behavioral health services.

Other:

  • Must be ethical, self-motivated, dependable/reliable, and detailed oriented.
  • Must be able to interface easily with staff, other senior management personnel, licensing/accreditation organizations and funding sources.
  • Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20-pound objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
