JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Manager Residential ensures the delivery of quality clinical services to youth and their families by providing clinical guidance and supervision to program staff. This role oversees the efficiency and effectiveness of the day-to-day clinical operations of the program, including hiring, training, clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, and safety of youth, families, and staff. This role, in partnership with program leadership, also participates in utilization management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensure a trauma informed approach for staff, youth, and families, including oversight for the clinical content of treatment plans.
- Facilitate decision making processes, including the involvement of applicable stakeholders to develop and implement evidence-based programs that achieve clinical, organization, and funder objectives.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in the provision of high-quality evidence-based, clinical services to youth and their families.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems of accountability to facilitate the integration of services; coach and mentor the team to implement and maintain these systems.
- Coordinate youth, family, and systems information in collaboration with Service Integration.
- Communicate regularly with funder(s) and oversight agencies, as required, to maintain and leverage positive and effective relationships.
- Manage and follow-up on internal and external emergency situations.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge about the services and activities of the area of responsibility.
- Develop, maintain, and update all required documentation for regulatory compliance and in alignment with agency protocols in a timely manner.
- Assist in development of and adhere to the established program budget.
- On call rotation responsibilities.
- While this job description covers many aspects of the role, employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree required
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience post Master’s degree required
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience required
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Active, unrestricted license in NYS required for one of the following:
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT)
- Unrestricted, valid NYS driver’s license for minimum of 1 year with a clean driving record and minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Residential Treatment Facilities : CPR certification required or obtained within 60 days of hire.

- Understand the payment process for services and assure that services sought and provided are consistent with payment process qualifications and rules.
- Develop, maintain and utilize a thorough knowledge of the legal and social rights of children, youth and parents to assure that these rights are understood and protected as needed.
- Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards of conduct towards all.
- Ability to act as a change agent to assist staff with adapting to organizational changes.
