Job Details Job Location: Health Center - Topeka, KS 66611 Position Type: Part Time Education Level: 2 Year Degree Job Shift: Night Position Purpose The Night Shift Nurse Manager oversees the clinical night shift teams at Brewster. Partners with the Director of Nursing and other managers to lead the night shift ensuring each resident receives daily care and other desired services in accordance with the resident’s assessment, choices and care plan. Leads housekeeping, laundry, nutritional and social/recreational services directly affecting the residents’ environment – maintaining a person-centered, resident-directed culture. Assures the neighborhood is maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and orderly manner. Leads by example and sees this as a role of service, rather than authority. Maintains a professional working relationship with the household team and residents and remains knowledgeable of residents’ rights and responsibilities. Key Responsibilities/Duties Assists in managing the Brewster Health Center, Community Nursing and Assisted Living clinical staff, along with primary supervisors. This includes overseeing staff and resolving staff conflict. Performs auditing of clinical records to ensure quality care is being performed. Holds regular staff meetings with night shift staff. Provides on call/fall support to independent living residents when necessary. Assists in scheduling as needed and enters schedules into the scheduling software. Responsible for auditing and tracking information to be used for QAPI and other data tracking. Provides follow up and support for any resident concerns that may occur. Attends necessary meetings as indicated by the DON/Administrator. This may include, but is not limited to monthly staff meetings, QAPI meetings and management meetings. Participates in the weekend on call rotation and supports covering the floor when needed during regular schedule. Monitors medical charts, ensures person center care is being provided and assists patients and families. Ensures compliance with all health, safety regulations, wound management and infection control, along with ensuring accurate documentation for all areas. Identifies issues or emergencies and responds in a calm and efficient manner The most significant duties have been included in this description.
