About the role Mater Hospital Brisbane Perioperative Department currently has a opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to step into a Clinical Nurse role within Anaesthetics and/or Recovery/PACU. This position will be offered on a permanent full time 38 hours per week. This is a key role supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in coordinating safe, high-quality perioperative care, with a focus on leadership, staff development, and clinical governance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Salary range: $56.08 - $60.05 per hour plus superannuation [https://www.ato.gov.au/tax-rates-and-codes/key-superannuation-rates-and-thresholds/super-guarantee] and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 [https://account.smartsalary.com.au/benefits-available?ercode=MML]  + access to many staff benefits!  [https://www.mater.org.au/group/careers/working-with-mater]  What you’ll be doing * Provide advanced clinical support across PACU and/or Anaesthetics * Lead by example to uphold safe, efficient care throughout the patient journey * Assist in managing daily operations and responding to clinical escalation * Support quality and safety initiatives including risk, audits, and infection prevention * Mentor and guide junior staff, contributing to a culture of continuous learning * Maintain current clinical knowledge aligned with best practice standards About you * Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions) * Must have more than 3 years’ experience in PACU and/or Anaesthetics * A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels * Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills * Strong attention to detail and organisational skills * Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients * Extensive knowledge of current National ANZCA standards as well as ACORN Standards and their alignment with the Perioperative Department Why join us?
