Job Description: About the role: We’re currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Nurse / Clinical Midwife Educator (Maternity) to join our supportive team at St Vincents Private Hospital Toowoomba. In this pivotal role you will be providing clinical education, professional development and mentorships to our nurses and midwifes across our Maternity Unit (Dorothy Devine), helping to shape the continuing delivery of safe patient care provided to our women, babies and their families. Your duties could include: Coordinate/facilitate orientation and induction for new staff joining Maternity Services. Coordinate, monitor and collect information on all mandatory training, required training and skill-based competencies for all staff members in conjunction with NUM Facilitate both planned and adhoc learning opportunities, including bedside support for all staff. Coordinate and deliver specific education programs within the ward area and other areas of the hospital and required (including orientation). Coordinate and support staff who mentor and facilitate students. Mentor and support staff undertaking postgraduate qualification. Identify and communicate to NUM indicated education and training gaps, providing action plans to address learning needs. Promote and encourage staff to attend professional development opportunities. Maintain personal competency at a high level. Evaluate own performance to identify strengths and learning needs. About you: Clinical Nurse / Midwife – current dual APHRA registration At least 5 years clinical experience in relevant work area Desired qualifications; experience in education/leadership role, current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation – Advanced, PROMPT & RANZCOG FSEP Required characteristics; approachable and positive team member, practised at building relationships with other health profession disciplines, passion for driving excellence in patient outcomes, demonstrated skillset in supporting education and training in new practitioners through to experienced colleagues, self-driven and able to problem solve efficiently Effective skills in communication, technology and simulation In-depth knowledge of the Australian National Standards, relevant legislation and best practice guidelines relating to midwifery services Post graduate qualifications (or working towards) relevant to role as Clinical Midwife / Clinical Nurse Educator About our hospital: St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs.
