Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse Consultant for Practice and Professional Development leads the ongoing evaluation and improvement of clinical practices through evidence led educational and professional development of the Hornsby Mental Health Service staff, both inpatient and community (AMHU, MHICU, PECC, ACT/PACER, OPMHS, AOT, CCT.
In collaboration with HKMHS staff the Clinical Nurse Consultant will develop and evaluate quality improvement processes, in particular through Essentials of Care (EOC) initiatives, pertaining to mental health care in a variety of settings and research projects as indicated. They will use the analysis
of clinical evidence and the implementation of evidence based practices to enhance optimal patient health outcomes.
The position also plays an integral role in periodic Accreditation processes and procedures.
The incumbent will be required to undertake additional projects relevant to the role as directed by the Inpatient Service Manager or Service Director.
