ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualification: Minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with a minimum of three years full-time experience in the specialty field of child and adolescent mental health. In addition, the employee must have approved post graduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD or working towards same.
Registration: Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse Division 1

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Emergency Department Navigator Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert, trauma-informed care to young people with acute mental health concerns in WSLHD Emergency Departments.

• Conducts developmentally appropriate assessments and interventions.
• Offers crisis intervention, risk management, and follow-up care.
• Provides leadership in clinical practice and consultancy.
• Engages in research to enhance mental health nursing knowledge.
• Develops and delivers mental health education and training.
