ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Registration: Current Nursing Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency ( AHPRA)
  • Qualification: Approved post registration qualifications relevant to specialty deemed appropriate by Organisation.
Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides expert clinical advice to patients/clients, carers and other health care professionals with complex healthcare needs within Child and Family. The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a clinical expert who, through leadership, facilitates excellence in evidence based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership. The Clinical Nurse Consultant models the CORE (Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment) values of the organisation.
The position will sit in the newly formed Western Sydney Local Health District, Substance us in Pregnancy (SUP )team. The SUPS team will be responsible for providing a comprehensive nursing assessment and delivering interventions, including sustained home visiting, to address the clinical needs of pregnant women, mother and their children (until the age of 2). The position will be part of a medically led multidisciplinary team. Treatment services are based on the principles of Keep Them Safer (child safety & well-being), harm minimisation and the recovery model for addiction. The position may require occasional evening and / or weekend work.
