BlueCare is embarking on an exciting transformation to strengthen the provision of quality nursing care in the community setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced community clinician to take the next step in their nursing career.
Your part in our Clinical Team
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant in our team, you will oversee regions providing high quality nursing care and leadership, support and guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff supporting excellence in client outcomes.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant works collaboratively with operational leads, Care Governance and Quality team and the Clinical Education Team supporting the highest level of care delivery. You will ensure care is consistent with the mission of BlueCare and current best practice that promotes quality of life and enhances the ability of individuals to maintain their independence and remain within their home in the community. A typical day in the role will see you:

  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders providing high standards of leadership and expert clinical advice relating to complex clinical care issues
  • Support the delivery of education to the wider team undertaking a wide array of clinical procedures and complex care needs
  • Analyse key clinical metrics and trends including incidents, identifying and implementing quality improvement initiatives and outcomes working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Implementing and supporting innovative ways of working to support the wider nursing and care service delivery including meeting operational targets ensuring the financial sustainability of the organisation

What makes a difference for us?

  • Current Registered Nurse Licence and Registration Certificate to practice in the State where employed
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in areas of Community Services or related specialty - minimum.
  • Post-graduate studies in relevant health field associated with Community or Primary Care nursing or working towards.
  • Provision of highly developed, flexible and responsive management and clinical leadership skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Framework and Strengthened Standards
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in relevant funding streams
  • Demonstrated understanding of person centred, community services delivery, preferably for the frail aged and those with dementia
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and written communication skills, including intermediate computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge and demonstrated effective practice with continuous quality improvement practices
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team collaboratively
  • Current driver’s licence, with ability to travel across designated service regions in Queensland
