  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency

  • Clinical/educational post-graduate qualification with a minimum of 12 months experience in the relevant clinical area related to the qualification. Or alternatively 4 years post-registration experience including three years’ in the relevant specialist field.

  • Certificate IV in workplace training and education or willingness to undertake within the first 12 months of employment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team and demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of innovative educational strategies, tools and approaches including e-learning. As well as a commitment to ongoing professional development of self and others.

ABOUT THE ROLE


  • Renal Ambulatory Care is a busy dynamic unit caring for people with acute and chronic kidney disease, providing renal replacement therapies to inpatients and outpatients. Services include in-centre and outpatient Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Renal Transplant and Renal Supportive care.

  • Working to enhance the skills and knowledge of nursing and other clinical staff, sharing clinical expertise within haemodialysis nursing. of the Renal Ambulatory Care Unit which provides renal replacement therapies to inpatients and outpatients.

  • Responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of the clinical education needs of the staff in collaboration with the Nursing Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultants and Medical Stream Manager.

  • Ensuring all staff, both transient and permanent, have equitable access to educational support and resources to enhance their clinical competence. Responsible for ensuring that the education delivered is current and based on the best available evidence.

  • Ensuring evidence-based practice principles have been utilised in the development of policies and procedures within the clinical environment and broader organisation.
