Note: This is a continuous recruitment requisition. We are always looking for talented Critical Care RNs to join our Nursing Staffing Office Float Pool. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for openings across multiple shifts and statuses as needed.   Primary Duties and Responsibilities * The Clinical Nurse I – Step-Down Float Pool provides direct patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act for assigned patients in a step-down and/or critical care unit. * The nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate quality patient care. * This includes providing physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administrations, specimen collection, meeting nutritional needs, and teaching and discharge needs of the patients assigned. * Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs. * Evaluates and adjusts the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed, and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical/legal/medical dilemma decisions. * Performs other duties as assigned.   Schedule & Work Expectations * Full Time and Part Time positions available.  * 12-hour shifts: * Days: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM * Nights: 7:00 PM-7:30 AM * Weekend and holiday rotation required.  * Differentials for Float Pool and Night Shift. * Float level based on Critical Care experience: * Float II: 1-2 years Critical Care RN experience  * Float III 3-4 years Critical Care RN experience * RNs will float to units at Hoag Newport and Hoag Irvine, including but not limited to: * Medical/Surgical * Telemetry * Sub-ICU * ICU * CCU * ED Holding
