Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Incumbent provides care to an assigned group of patients focusing on meeting the clinical needs of the patient. Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient. Will evaluate patient outcomes and effectiveness of plan of care. Serves as a role model to the clinic staff. Assists in developing patient education for the assigned clinic.
Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum of six months nursing experience
  • Current California RN license
  • All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • 6 months Occ Health experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of JCAHO requirements
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
