Job Role / Responsibilities: Responsible to identify staff learning needs, develop and implement appropriate teaching interventions to improve knowledge, attitude and skills required to meet nursing care needs of all categories of patients. Responsible for developing and conducting competency based orientation and specifically specialty based courses. This includes conducting formal and informal need analyses, preparing formal and informal teaching plans and evaluating the effectiveness of the learning of individuals and groups. Maintains clinical indicators staff credentials to provide ongoing feedback on job competency. ­­­You will be responsible to; Assess learning needs of nursing staff. Ensures nominations and attendance for continuing education offered by NES, IT & HR department. Coordinates with NES in implementation of division wide nursing educational programmes. Develops specialty based annual educational sessions are conducted as per monthly educational plans. Ensures completion of all CBO of new staff within establish time frame. Monitor credentialing of nursing staff and nominate them for re-credentialing if required. Meet with clinicians to discuss patient care treatments regimens and quality issues as per need basis. Develop plan of training; conducting formal and informal sessions and re-evaluating its effectiveness in units. Develop courses and modules to enhance staff competence Monitor special assignments. Maintain and monitor clinical indicators. Setting annual goals and objectives related to staff development of assigned areas and design strategies for nurturing of first lines Nurse Instructors in units Participating in establishing standards of care with unit staff and monitor delivery of care according to the set standards such as patient safety, Quality of care, Health Care Associated Infection, policies, procedures, protocols, and patient centered care. Conducting clinical reviews and liaise with nursing regulatory body Nursing Education Services at Aga Khan University Hospital and School of Nursing and Midwifery Certifying and supervising the clinical performance of the interns and staff Performing the required clinical tasks depending on the patient acuity. Reinforces unit, division and policies and procedures. Maintain and keep the record of all clinical incidents and follow up in timely basis. Consult with the Nursing Manager monthly regarding staff development activities / issues. Eligibility Criteria / Requirements: You must have; a BScN degree from renowned Institute PNC license (validity up to 6 months at least) Certified in ACLS/ BLS, Safe medication Administration, Intravenous Cannulation and Conscious Sedation (as applicable) Minimum 3 years of experience of working as Registered Nurse. Demonstrate ability to transmit knowledge and skills. Demonstrate expertise in chosen area on clinical practice. Commitment to excellence in nursing practice. Awareness of current clinical and research literature. Able to work in a team. Ability to work under stressful situations Comprehensive Employment Reference Checks will be conducted
