Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Clinical Nurse IV is responsible for the functions related to the delivery of patient care, as it relates to the inpatient/outpatient PICC Line patient. The Clinical Nurse IV is responsible and accountable for the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care provided to the patients. Assists, and educates the nursing staff providing the day to day care. Provides PICC Line insertion to patients of all ages, following standard PICC Line procedures. Assists the Nurse Manager in leading, planning, controlling and evaluating nursing practices and operations as it relates to the PICC Lines. Provides patient care to an assigned group of patients and is considered the clinical expert and resource for the PICC Line specialty. The CN IV incorporates the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other using clinical knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Serves as a role model, clinical resource and leader to colleagues, staff, patients and students.
