SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse with minimum 5 years’ experience in Residential Aged Care as Senior Registered Nurse
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, particularly Standards Care and Services and Clinical Care
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to adapt to both current and future challenges in the aged care sector
  • Strong skills in assessment, care planning and clinical documentation
  • Exceptional communicator with excellent decision-making capabilities and the flexibility to meet the diverse needs of both the team and residents
  • Has a genuine passion for working with the elderly, demonstrating deep respect for older individuals and a strong commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care
Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to join our Residential Aged Care Services at Carinya of Bicton! In collaboration with the Facility Manager, clinical care and support team, you will play a pivotal role in managing clinical and care service delivery for residents. We are looking for a dynamic leader with a proven track record of collaborating effectively and leveraging the strengths of an established clinical care team. In this role, you will be key to ensuring high-quality care outcomes and delivering leadership within the service. This position is ideal for someone with expertise in dementia care, palliative care, and end-of-life care.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Support the Facility Manager and the Quality & Compliance Officer to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the facility
  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team in all clinical and care/support activities
  • Monitor, review, and report on complex clinical conditions to ensure personalised care for all residents
  • Mentor and coach Registered and Enrolled Nurses, along with the broader clinical/care team, to help them reach their full potential
  • Promote resident well-being and safety by ensuring collaborative care practices and the highest standards of service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards
  • Role model best practices in documentation, communication, record management, and ensuring residents’ needs, choices, and preferences are clearly understood and respected
