ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a passionate nursing leader ready to make a meaningful impact in your community? We’re looking for a Clinical Nurse Manager Wairarapa to lead and support our dedicated team of nurses and allied health professionals at our Wairarapa base in Masterton including worksite management and the provision of professional oversight for our immunisation team in Lower Hutt.
In this pivotal role, you’ll provide clinical leadership and operational oversight, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive public health services. You’ll work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to promote health equity, uphold nursing standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

This permanent, full-time role offers the chance to work at the heart of population health supporting wellbeing where people live, learn, and play. You’ll deliver public health nursing services across schools and the community, with a focus on:

  • Promoting health and preventing illness through evidence-based practice
  • Providing comprehensive assessments of personal and population health
  • Addressing the wider determinants of health that influence wellbeing
  • Leading primary prevention activities, including immunisation
  • Contributing to innovative, equitable, and culturally responsive care

You are a passionate and committed nurse who believes in the power of prevention and early intervention to create healthier communities. You thrive on working in partnership with tamariki, rangatahi, whānau, schools, and community organisations, and you bring energy, compassion, and professionalism to your mahi every day. You understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and are skilled in applying its principles effectively in your role. You build and maintain positive relationships at all levels and model an agile approach, you learn quickly, adapt fast. You are able to utilise advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking and professional judgement to provide competent care and advice while working to top of scope.

  • Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as Registered Nurse and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • 3+ years clinical experience, Authorised Vaccinator or interest in completing training, demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and clinical judgement, particularly when working with children and adolescents
  • Hold a minimum of an expert portfolio in an approved PDRP or equivalent with a commitment to continue through the programme
  • Child and whānau health related experience
  • Ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Proven experience and competence using Patient Management Systems
  • An eye for detail and commitment for continuous quality improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Full, clean New Zealand drivers licence
