An exciting opportunity is now available to join the team at Hawkesbury District Hospital as a Permanent Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 specialising in Orthopaedics.
The successful incumbent will work collaboratively to provide safe, compassionate, person-centred health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams. As a highly experienced clinician who provides expert leadership, guidance, and consultation across all aspects of nursing and midwifery practice, this role involves advising on the safe and appropriate delivery of care and contributing to the development of clinical standards and protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and current NSW Driver’s License and willingness to use same as required for the position
  • Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in Surgical Orthopaedics and post graduate qualifications in Orthopaedic nursing or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  • Evidence of consistent demonstration of behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation with all stakeholders including colleagues, direct reports patients and consumers.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing/midwifery practice.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework to clinical practice.
  • Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence-based research.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning.
  • Ability to apply clinical expertise in patient-centered consultancy with the ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently
