SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a perioperative or surgical ward setting, with a focus on Orthopaedics and/or Neurosurgery.
  • Strong clinical decision-making, mentoring, and leadership abilities.
  • Experience coordinating clinical teams and managing workflow.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards, clinical indicators, and quality improvement practices.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients within Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery specialties.
  • Mentor, support, and supervise junior nursing staff and students.
  • Actively lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices in infection control, patient safety, and clinical governance.
  • Liaise and collaborate effectively with Visiting Medical Officers and allied health professionals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to operational planning and scheduling.
  • Act as a role model, promoting a culture of excellence, empathy, and accountability.
